My Nephew is Living It Up in San Francisco

My nephew has grown up to be quite the man. I can still remember when he was just a little toddler running around with a stuffed animal in his hand. However, those days are long gone, and my nephew is now a proud college graduate. In fact, not only did he graduate from college, but he graduated in just three and a half years (this is especially impressive since he is quite outgoing and has a very healthy social life).

Before he even graduated from school, he got offered a job in San Francisco, and because it was in his field of interest, had a good salary and great benefits, he took it right away. Now that he’s settled into life in San Francisco, he recently invited me to come visit him, and I took him up on that offer last week.

I have to say I’m very impressed with the life he has made for himself. San Francisco isn’t a cheap place, but my nephew is a very smart kid (oops, I guess I have to call him an adult now), and he has managed to obtain a very nice living setup for himself. He took me all around the city of San Francisco, and from everything he said, he is really loving his new life in this vibrant city.

Have You Been to San Francisco Before?

Have you ever been to San Francisco before? This is actually a city that I have never visited before. Although I have been to other cities throughout California, for one reason or another, San Francisco is just a place that I have never visited. While I haven’t been there before, that’s going to change in the near future. The reason that it’s going to change is because I am going to be taking a business trip to San Francisco next month. There’s a big industry convention that’s being held in San Francisco for the first time ever, and I am going to be one of the main people who is going there to represent my company. I really like the social aspect of going to conventions, so I am really excited about this opportunity and trip in general.

Even though San Francisco is a city that I’m not familiar with, I’m confident that I’m going to have a good trip. And, it actually doesn’t matter that I don’t know my way around the city, because I’m going to take a GPS with me so that I can put it into my rental car and know exactly where I’m at in San Francisco at all times.

My Grandparents Love San Francisco

Although my parents moved to the Midwest of the United States after they graduated from college, my grandparents have always lived in San Francisco. I was born and raised in the Midwest, and although there were times when I wished that my grandparents also lived in the Midwest with us, looking back I think I’m actually glad that they have always lived in San Francisco. Now, I’m not saying that because I wouldn’t want to spend more time with them; I’m saying that because them living in San Francisco gave me an additional view of the world from the time that I was quite young.

Since we have always gone out to San Francisco for the holidays, I got to experience what life was like in a major United States city. I think it was all of these experiences that made me willing to go to a college in a major city on the East coast, and to continue living and working there after I graduated from school. My grandparents are still in my life to this day, and I’m really looking forward to heading out to San Francisco quite soon to spend the holidays with them.

I’m Going to Miss San Francisco

Although it has been close to a year since my family and I moved away from San Francisco, no longer being in that great city is really sinking in right now. The reason for this is because this is going to be the first holiday season that we don’t spend in San Francisco.

Since you can probably tell that both myself and my family really love the city of San Francisco, you are probably wondering why we no longer live there. Like so many other people, I had to leave a city that I cared about as a result of my job. I’m not bitter towards my company or the new city that I am living in, but I don’t think it’s ever easy for anyone to deal with a major change like moving to a new city.

While we are definitely going to miss being in San Francisco for the holidays, we are doing our best to make our first Christmas in a new city as fun as possible. Since our new city gets a lot more winter weather than we were used to in San Francisco, it actually has been easier than I expected for all of us to get into the holiday spirit.
